Episode 25 – Surprise

Red is the garden
of my passion.

Ruby slippers crush you
beneath my feet
like raspberries,

luscious, lovely, raspberries.

Devotion divides
light from darkness.
Candles glow, even in the wilderness.

I keep thinking I’ve lost you.

My dress flows like wine
into your glass.

We dream,
our future tied by blood
if not by love,

not anymore.

We flee through
the cold and rain,
seeking comfort,

neither of us knowing
what love means, not before this.

The storm awakens me, screaming
for what might have been.

Blood roses.

I cry your name
one last, lonely time.

Then the world moves on.

Episode 24 – Bad Eggs

some texas tough guys
came to town
they tried to take me out

but then

♫ he kissed me
ooh ooh
he kissed me♫

they weren’t
the brightest stars
so i had to
knock ‘em down

but then

♫ he kissed me

of a chicken
is an egg

and the offspring
of a cow
the coldest milk

my egg
didn’t move me
so i took it to a movie

and

no popcorn
i almost ate my young

♫ ooh ooh

the children rose against me
mother father by their side

♫ ‘til he kissed me

Episode 23 – Ted

a mother
throws her daughter kisses
embarrassing but
pleasing her with affection

a father
disappears
leaving men in his wake
who steal her candy

a monster
hides behind
the human face
offering sweet rewards

the mask stays on
in company
but the girl must touch
the rotting flesh below

swinging solitary
in moonlight
the girl can’t feel her hands
since he fell

and mother
has no tongue to speak
of the monsters
who come
to take her daughter

Episode 21 & 22 – What’s My Line

In my lavender sweater,
I pirouette,

feeling weary,
seeking comfort
on your pillow.

Tarot cards, dance with me,
grant me kisses when I’m scared.

In my white sweater,
I pace

beneath the full moon,
finding you again
after many lifetimes.

Tarot cards, tell me tales
l can’t remember.

In my darkest gown,
I fall,

seeking strength
in sorrow,
enough to rise again.

Episode 19 – Lie to Me

red runs
’round and ’round

run

or you’ll be caught
in the brambles

thorns
piercing your heart

white and flowing
i disappear
singing my mother’s song

red runs
my secrets

for truth is black
and yours prove
even darker

sing to me
for i can trust
no one

and

in my red coat
you betray me

Episode 17 – Reptile Boy

It’s too quiet.

Hooded men chase me
through graveyards.

I fall into an open grave,
feel lonely when I think of kissing you.

Broken glass, flying horses,
think I’ve had too much to drink.

I see shadows on the stairwell,
boys in lipstick, girls in chains.

Long legs, black dress,
think I’ve had too much to drink.

Little girls, all in a row,
sweet offerings.

Boys can be such snakes.
